By the time she reached her mid-fifties Susan was worrying a lot, about all sorts of things. She worried so much that it caused problems in her relationships with other people.
Eventually Susan came to BSL Healthy Minds for help. To begin with we talked with her to discover her problems, and how we could help her to overcome them.
Over six sessions we talked and helped her work out why she was finding some everyday events worrying, then we helped her find new ways of thinking about them.
Talking about events and rethinking them is a powerful therapy, and has remarkable results.
The technique we used with Susan is called Cognitive Restructuring. It’s a low-intensity version of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
“Shabir has been my therapies for last sessions. He has been very helpful and understanding. I realise- Talk is very important. Now I feel more confident and less worry .Before I was a worrier. Not as bad now. I recommend to deaf people . He is very good and understanding. Thank you. ”
