How long before my therapy starts?
This can vary depending upon the area you live in.
NHS England has changed the way it provides services, including mental health services. Now, each geographical area has its own organisation called a Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). There are 211 CCGs in England. Each CCG is made up of GPs, hospital doctors and other representatives from nursing and the public. Their job is to take care of the people living in their CCG area.
After you have been referred to BSL Healthy Minds for therapy, our administration team will apply for funding from your local CCG. Some CCGs respond quickly and approve our application, which means your therapy will start quickly. Other CCGs take longer and some CCGs will not agree to fund any therapy because they want to spend their budget on other services. If this happens in your area you can make a formal complaint. We will be able to advise you on how to do this but unfortunately we will not be able to make the complaint on your behalf.
