The BSL Healthy Minds team delivered a thought provoking training session to a group of commissioners at the Northern Ballet in Leeds on the 25th November 2014.
The session brought people together from social care, probation and mental health commissioning backgrounds.
The aim of the training was to educate commissioners about sign language users in mental health services; the barriers they face and best practice to make services accessible. Many questions were asked about how they could improve care pathways for BSL users.
The training had great impact as several individuals approached us to find out how they could improve access to mental health services for BSL users in Yorkshire and Humberside.
