Deaf people kept telling us they found it hard to make appointments, that when they got to a consultation they were misunderstood, and that they came away not really knowing what was wrong, or what they needed to do.
It was also important for us to find out whether Deaf people are less healthy as a result.
The research was funded by a grant from the BIG Lottery Fund, and carried out by the University of Bristol.
