Andrew had a serious illness late at night. Without InterpreterNow from SignHealth he might have died.
Until this year getting help would have been tough – but NHS24 in Scotland have begun offering out of hours access to health advice using sign language. They do it through SignHealth’s InterpreterNow service.
Andrew used his laptop and its built-in camera to talk to NHS24 though an interpreter. The online service helped him to quickly and accurately tell advisors what was happening.
At hospital Andrew took his computer into the operating theatre too. The surgeons were able to tell him what was happening, get his consent and give him instructions on what he needed to do.
