SignHealth is a national charity committed to achieving better access to and equality of health provision within the UK for Deaf people. We provide services to Deaf people experiencing mental health problems and/or complex needs. The charity works in the fields of supported living, counselling, advocacy, outreach and health promotion. We are also proud that more than half our employees are Deaf.
DeafHope is one of SignHealth’s service’s providing support to Deaf people and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. You will be a confident, assertive professional who will provide outreach support to Deaf survivors of domestic abuse and work alongside other projects to make sure Deaf victims and their children are protected from harm.
The successful applicant will be a woman* and ideally will be Deaf (in the event that not enough Deaf candidates come forward, hearing people who are fluent in BSL will be considered) and will be able to work independently, with support and supervision from the DeafHope Service Manager.
