SignHealth is a national charity committed to achieving better access to and equality of health provision within the UK for Deaf people. We provide services to Deaf people experiencing mental health problems and/or complex needs. The charity works in the fields of supported living, counselling, advocacy, outreach and health promotion. We are also proud that more than half our employees are Deaf.
DeafHope is one of SignHealth’s service’s providing support to Deaf people and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. The IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocacy) service is part of DeafHope and will provide a combination of emotional support and practical assistance to women who are experiencing high-risk domestic abuse. It will enable Deaf women to access the support they need to reduce risk and take back control of their lives.
The successful applicant will be a woman* and ideally will be Deaf (in the event that not enough Deaf candidates come forward, hearing people who are fluent in BSL will be considered) and will be able to work independently, with support and supervision from the DeafHope Service Manager. This role will require you to provide support our clients and also a busy team.

Probationary period: 6 months
Pension: After 3 months, the post holder may be able to join the Personal Pension Scheme to which SignHealth will contribute 6%.
