Do you have problems using your local doctor's surgery?
Redhouse Lane is making a film for GP surgery staff on how they can provide a better service to people with deafness and hearing loss, blindness and sight loss, or learning difficulties. The film is part of a training programme for surgery staff which will be sent out to surgeries all over the country by the NHS Practice Management Network.
The company would like speak to people who have had difficulties communicating with receptionists, admin staff, GPs or practice nurses; difficulties accessing information supplied by the surgery; or difficulties accessing the building itself. They are particularly keen to speak to those with hearing loss or Deafness.
They are speaking to people both for research purposes and also to find people to appear in the film itself. They will not be naming any surgeries - they just want to speak to people about the type of problems they are experiencing.
In lieu of expenses, they are providing the following to those who are filmed:
£20 if they are filming a short one sentence section (this would involve them travelling to a location and filming time of about 1/2 hour)
£50 if they film a case study with them (this would involve filming with them at home for half a day).
