Cancer info Deaf Awareness Week
Cancer Research UK and SignHealth are working together to improve access to information about cancer for deaf people during Deaf Awareness Week.
One of SignHealth's current aims is to improve the accessibility to health information and services for Deaf people who experience huge health inequalities.
SignHealth approached Cancer Research UK, who has agreed to dedicate one of their Midlands Roadshow days to the Deaf community.
Cancer Research UK will set their Mobile Information Unit up at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham on the 30th June between 10am and 4pm. There will be a trained Cancer Nurse and two trained Health Advisors in attendance along with qualified interpreters.
Cancer Research UK would welcome visits from Deaf people who have had a cancer diagnosis, have a friend or family member who has been diagnosed, or who would like more information on Cancer Prevention on this day.
