Domestic abuse
Did you know:
- 1 in 4 women experience domestic violence in their lifetime
- The vast majority of victims are women and children and the majority of abusers are men who choose to behave violently to get what they want
- Abuse manifests itself differently in Deaf culture and many violent situations are overlooked
- Some reports indicate over 50% of Deaf people experience abuse
- Deaf people's access to services in the UK are currently very limited and in some cases non-existent
