Under our Health Promotion Programme, SignHealth works with deaf individuals and organisations to promote better health to deaf people and encourages deaf people to get involved in their local health services.  To do this we:

1. Support deaf volunteers to sit on Public and Patient Involvement Forums.

2. Deliver Healthy Deaf Day events for deaf people around the country, focussing on particular relevant health issues in an informal seminar (see Latest Events).

3. Work with organisations to deliver specific health programmes for deaf people within their own communities, such as HIV Aids.

4. Organise conferences to promote discussion and debate around health and health issues for deaf people and share learning (see Latest Events).

5. Deliver Communication Tactics training for healthcare staff so they can better communicate with their deaf patients.
